SAMBICA exists to create environments where individuals experience Jesus Christ through educational programs, recreation and hospitality services.
Vision Statement
To create an interrelated and financially sustainable group of ministries including camping, conferences, hospitality and training programs which impact youth and adults with the life changing message of Jesus Christ.
To see hundreds of youth changed and built up in their faith in Jesus Christ through Christian camping programs which share the Gospel in relevant and age-appropriate styles.
To raise up new generations of youth and young adults through intentional training programs which equip them with Christian leadership and life skills and empower them to influence their daily world.
To renew and equip new and existing Christian and non-profit leaders through unique training and skill development programs.
To develop a resort-class facility that fits into the community, offers high quality amenities to guest groups and program participants, and facilitates the highest levels of excellence in programming.
SERVICE
The Bible says, "make every effort to pursue peace with all men". With this imperative SAMBICA staff and ministries will strive to maintain customer and constituent use at the highest levels of quality. We will strive to keep all relationship above reproach and do our best to make every customer a satisfied one, even when we are unable to fulfill their expectations.
AUTHENTICITY
The Bible says, "whoever claims to live in Him (Jesus Christ) must walk as he walked". As followers of Christ, our programming and leadership must emulate the character and life of Christ to the greatest degree possible; holding to the truth, receiving in humility, and living as though eternity matters.
MISSION DRIVEN
Being mission driven means that we lay out strategic plans, make the hard decisions to keep ourselves focused, and hold ourselves to high levels of performance and evaluation, while always balancing competency with community and character.
BIBLICALLY GROUNDED
The Bible will always be the baseline for all of our programming and is built into our history and existence. While many components of leadership and skill development will be extra-biblical they will never be anti-biblical in their statements, theory or assumptions.
INTERDEPENDENT TEAMWORK
Every aspect of SAMBICA’s ministry requires teamwork and respect. No individual succeeds without other team members doing their part, and when one team member doesn’t value this interdependence, then others suffer and success is compromised. Therefore, we think in terms of our summer team and our year-round team. There is no distinction between full time, summer or intern staff because without everyone's participation and effort there is no success.
COMMUNITY FOCUSED
Whether it is our staff community, our neighborhood community, our city community, our user community or our Association community, we will strive to honor each in appropriate ways and fulfill our mission and vision with sensitivity to these communities and their needs. Our efforts toward service and authenticity require no less of us.
ALWAYS DEPENDANT
Only God can enable us to fulfill our mission and vision because of their eternal nature. Therefore, we will prayerfully depend on him in our decision making, problem solving and relationship issues; seeking his wisdom and guidance in all of our efforts.
