Job Descriptions (Please Check "Summer Position Openings" for what is still available)
Senior Counselors : Responsible for leading a cabin group of 9-11 campers for 5-day periods. Must have a love for 1st - 9th graders, a desire and ability to reach children and youth for Christ, and a willingness to be flexible in staffing assignments between Resident and Day camp. In addition each counselor should expect one to two weeks of placement in other service areas. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
Boat Drivers (5): Ability to teach children skiing/wakeboarding desired. Responsible for providing a safe and fun atmosphere and ensuring timely activity periods when driving boats . Responsibilities also include upkeep and cleaning of boats and related equipment. Boat driving experience preferred, but not required. Being a part of the program team and assisting in other areas is also required. Weekly salary: $150 (Depending on Experience) plus room and board.
Kitchen Assistants (6): Responsible for the duties of baking, food prep, assisting with meal preparation, dish washing and clean up. Must be hard working, flexible and a team player. Will have the opportunity to serve and impact campers and staff. No experience necessary. Weekly salary: $180 plus room and board.
Maintenance Assistant: Responsible for assisting the Facilities Director with daily maintenance in the operational needs of the camp. This would include both routine maintenance and housekeeping needs as well as major projects that are essential to summer camp. Will assist other staff involved in facilities under the supervision of the Facilities Director. Being a part of the summer staff team and assisting in other areas is also required. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
Security Guard/Road Runner: Responsible for prowling grounds every camp night between 10pm and midnight including bed checks for campers and staff. On Thursday carnival nights, must patrol between 10pm and 7am. Responsible for locking up all buildings and facilities. Must be willing to work in other areas of camp during the day. This position will daily drive into town to run errands for camp. Must be over 21 and have a clean driving record. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
Medical Assistant: Responsible for assisting the Camp Medic with the health and treatment of campers and staff. Will dispense medication as needed/prescribed and be the first medical responder in any health/emergency medical situation in the absence of the Camp Medic. Great patience and “bedside manner” necessary. Nursing Program student desired, but not necessary. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
Lifeguards (5): Responsible for the safety of all individuals using the waterfront area during scheduled activities. Also expected to teach water activities, maintain aquatic equipment and keep the beachfront area groomed. Life guarding experience preferred, but not required. Boating and water sport experience is desirable. Being a part of the program team and assisting in the development of evening programs is also required. Weekly salary: $180 (Must be certified before arrival) plus room and board.
Office Assistant: Will assist the Registration & Office Associate in coordinating and maintaining camper registrations and assist in daily office operations. This may range from data entry, assisting in check-in and check-out, manage registration waitlist, manage lost and found, filing, answering phones, mail delivery and running on-campus errands. Must be highly detailed and have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as have prior office work environment experience. Weekly slary: $150 plus room and board.
Store Clerk: Responsible for creating and maintaining a fun and exciting atmosphere at “Sam’s Place” (the camp store). Will monitor inventory and keep track of camper store accounts. Will also oversee high school students who help in the store, while providing mentoring and leadership training. Some experience in retail is helpful. Will be called upon to assist in other areas of camp by Leadership Staff. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
Crafts Teacher: Responsible for creating an exciting, creative and enjoyable experience for campers in the Arts and Crafts area. Will monitor inventory and help create fun and successful crafts for different age groups. Will also oversee high school work teams in arts & crafts while providing mentoring and leadership training. Creativity and love of interaction with all ages is required. Will be called upon to assist in other areas of camp by Leadership Staff.Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
Head of Activities Dept: Will manage and schedule high school activity leaders while providing mentoring and leadership training. Activities include archery, inflatable games, sling-shots, canoeing, kayaking, mini-golf, nature hikes, initiatives/team building times, and more. Also responsible for daily upkeep, inventory and cleanliness of recreation equipment and safety procedures throughout camp. Will be called upon to assist in other areas of camp. Previous experience working with high-school aged students prefered. Experience with High Ropes also a plus. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
High Ropes Facilitators (4): Responsible for safely operating SAMBICA's new high ropes course and leading campers through initiation and process. Will be expected to daily set up and take down equipment as well as help run other activities as needed (archery, inflatable games, sling-shots, canoeing, kayaking, mini-golf, nature hikes, initiatives/team building times, and more. Also responsible for daily upkeep, inventory and cleanliness of recreation equipment throughout camp. Will be called upon to assist in many other areas of camp on a daily basis. Must have high ropes or climbing experience. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
Videographer: Responsible for the production of Resident Camp and Day Camp weekly videos which are shown at parents’ programs and taken home with every camper. The video editor will also be responsible for other video productions used for development, marketing and recruiting purposes. Must have previous digital editing and production experience. Being a part of the summer staff team and assisting in the development of evening programs is also required. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
Photographer: Responsible for the production of weekly photography assignments for all programs. They will also be required to order all photographs to be distributed. In addition, they will assist the videographer in any asignments in which their aid is needed. Digital photography experience required. Preference will be given to those who also have some previous video experience. Being a part of the summer staff team and assisting in the development of evening programs is also required. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.
Worship Leader: Responsible for organizing and implementing worship programs in "the Forum" and at campfire. These will consist of camper worship times, skits, games, testimonies, and speakers. Will work closely with the Day and Resident Camp Supervisers to coordinate these times. This person must be able to lead large groups of children and youth in worship. The ability to play an instrument and sing is preferred. The Worship Leader will also help with any outdoor events that include worship and/or use of the sound system. Must demonstrate good communication skills and spiritual maturity. Working in other areas as needed is also required. Weekly salary: $180 plus room and board.
(E.L.I.T.E) Mentors (5): Responsible for training, counseling and encouraging ELITE campers, offering emotional, interpersonal and prayer support. Will assist the ELITE Superviser in the day-to-day activities involving the high school students. This may range from discipline issues to scheduling and supervising the program. Will also provide mentoring and leadership training. Will lead and take ownership for one of the Five ELITE work areas for the summer ( Maintenance, Accomodations, Kitchen, Dining Hall, Lower Camp). Must have good communication skills, leadership ability, and spiritual maturity. Must also have previous experience working with high-school aged students. Weekly salary: $150 plus room and board.

LEADERSHIP STAFF
Leadership Staff positions include tremendous levels of responsibility during the summer, thus requiring exceptional leadership abilities, spiritual maturity, self-motivation, organizational abilities, and experience with children and youth. Leadership Staff are usually require experience in camp ministry, have demonstrated leadership ability, and are preferably 3rd or 4th year of college or have graduated from college.
Staffing Supervisor: Responsible for the coordination of all Staffing details, including recruiting, hiring, processing logistical details, and orientating new staff. This person's primary role is to assist the Program Director in all Staffing administrative needs. The posistion will also oversee and supervise the Womens and Mens Staff Counselors roles. Must be highly organized, spiritually mature, personable, have great commuication skills and experience with Microsoft Excel. This person will also serve in other leadership capacities as assigned by the Program Director. This person will be expected first fulfill the requirments of an internship role throughout the spring before starting the role in June. Weekly Salary: $250 plus room and board.
Day Camp Supervisor: Responsible for the coordination & facilitation of daily Day Camp programming. Must have good organizational and communication skills, as well as prior experience working with children and college aged students. Will oversee daily administrative tasks relating to Day Camp and will supervise the Day Camp PA in ministering to all Day Camp staff. Must be willing and capable to deal with parents and children concerning discipline and similar program issues. This person will also serve in other leadership capacities as assigned by the Program Director. Weekly salary: $250 plus room and board.
Day Camp PA: Will assist the Day Camp Supervisor in the day-to-day activity involving campers and staff. This may range from discipline issues, to scheduling, to logistics of the program. Must be willing and capable to deal with parents and children concerning discipline and similar program issues. Must also have good organizational and communication skills, as well as have prior experience working with children and college aged adults. Weekly salary: $200 plus room and board.
Resident Camp Supervisor: Responsible for the coordination and facilitation of daily Resident Camp programming. Must also have good organizational and communication skills, as well as have prior experience working with children and college-aged adults. Will oversee daily administrative tasks relating to Resident Camp and will supervise the Resident PA in ministering to all Resident Camp staff. Must be willing and capable to deal with parents and children concerning discipline and program issues. This person will also serve in other leadership capacities as assigned by the Program Director. Weekly salary: $250 plus room and board.
Resident Camp PA: Will assist the Resident Camp Supervisor in day-to-day activities involving campers and staff. This may range from discipline issues, to scheduling, to managing the logistics of the program. Some specific program areas include leading big games and setting up evening events. Must be willing and capable to deal with parents and children concerning discipline and program issues. Must also have good organizational and communication skills, as well as have prior experience working with children and college aged adults. Weekly salary: $200 plus room and board.
(E.L.I.T.E) Program Assistant: Will assist in the facilitation of the High School Leadership training program (E.L.I.T.E). Will be assisting the Summer Staff & ELITE Coordinator in any capacity needed, including supporting ELITE mentors, setting up and leading activities, and helping in the overall running of the ELITE program. Weekly salary: $200 plus room and board.
Cross Ministries Supervisor: Responsible for running beginning of the week check-in processes, end of the week check-out, and Carnival Night. Also responsible for the managing of the Head of Activities, Ropes Facilitators, and Worship Leader. May serve in other leadership capacities as determined by the Program Director. Being a part of the program team and assisting in the development of evening programs may also be required. Experience with High Ropes prefered. Weekly salary: $250 plus room and board.
Men’s Staff Counselor: Responsible for counseling, encouraging and assisting male staff members on a day-to-day basis. Will offer emotional, interpersonal and prayer support to male staff members. Assist in camper follow-up and camper commitment response tabulation. Will work with Women’s Staff Counselor and Staffing Supervisor to facilitate and implement summer staff enrichment. May serve in other leadership capacities as determined by the Program Director. Being a part of the program team and assisting in the development of evening programs is also required. Weekly salary: $200 plus room and board.

Waterfront Supervisor: Responsible for the smooth operation of all facets of the waterfront in order to ensure the safety of campers and staff. This includes managing the scheduling, training and rotation of lifeguards, boat drivers, and high school students (E.L.I.T.E). This also includes overseeing the "Wake Up" Wakeboarding program. Will work closely with the Program Director to ensure the implementation of all policies and regulations, which are required by the state of Washington. Experience at an aquatics facility, strong leadership skills, spiritual maturity and lifeguard credentials required. SCUBA certification desirable. Weekly salary: $250 plus room and board.

This includes assisting in managing the scheduling, training and rotation of lifeguards, boat drivers, and high school students (E.L.I.T.E). This also includes helping with the "Wake Up" Wakeboarding program. Will work closely with the Program Director and Waterfront Supervisor to ensure the implementation of all policies and regulations, which are required by the state of Washington. Experience at an aquatics facility, strong leadership skills, spiritual maturity and lifeguard credentials required. SCUBA and boat driving certification desirable. Weekly salary: $200 plus room and board.
Camp Medic: Responsible for the health and treatment of campers and summer staff. Will dispense medication as needed/prescribed and be the first medical responder in any health/emergency medical situation. Responsible for abiding by Physicians Standing Orders. Great patience and “bedside manner” necessary. Responsible for communicating all medical incedents to the Program Director and other necessary staff. Will oversee the Medical Assistant. Must have a minimum of an EMT or LPN Certificate and some experience in the health care field. Experience working with children and youth desired. Weekly salary: $200-$400 (Depending on Experience) plus room and board.
Adventure Leader: Responsible for coordinating our 8 week long off camp, Adrenaline Adventure Camps. Outdoor experience not required. Will arrange rafting, climbing and challenge course activities with Youth Dynamic professional instructors. Must be a responsible, physically fit, independent and mature individual who works well with youth. Must be over 21 and has a clean drivers record over the last three years. Weekly salary: $200 plus room and board.
