SUMMER STAFF CONTRACT

Through the years, parents have placed a great trust in the SAMBICA experience.  It is upmost importance that we do not do anything to endanger this trust.  In order to continue and strengthen this trust and further the SAMBICA ministry, we ask SAMBICA staff to be committed to the highest principles as Christian role models for children, youth, adults and each other.  We ask all SAMBICA staff to abide by the following statement of commitment.  Failure to keep any part of this commitment or to not share in SAMBICA’s vision of ministry during the summer may impact your employment during the summer and affect the possibility of being rehired.  Please understand this commitment applies from the moment training begins until you return home after a summer of ministry. In addition, please understand that we are not taking a theological stand against such things as alcohol and smoking. These commitments are in the general interest of an individual's personal growth, staff unity, ministry effectiveness, and SAMBICA's reputation in our community.

We ask our Summer Staff members to abide by the following commitments:

While serving at SAMBICA either as a volunteer or paid worker...
  • I will seek the daily renewal of my spirit through the practice of personal spiritual disciplines prior to and during the summer.
  • I will nurture my relationship with Christ through weekly staff spiritual growth experiences.
  • I will refrain from the consumption of alcohol and the use of tobacco both on and off the camp grounds.
  • I will, for health reasons, refrain from getting new tattoos or piercings.
  • I will contribute to staff unity by pursuing and developing only those relationships that are above reproach and inclusive in nature.
  • I will be a supportive team member and work quickly and responsively for the resolution of conflict.
  • I will maintain my physical strength by being in bed before prowl (typically 11 PM) each weeknight of the summer.
  • I will give myself fully to my camp responsibilities in order that I may minister and serve others in every possible way.
  • I understand and accept the ministry times for ALL positions at SAMBICA.  I realize the week begins at 2:00 PM (1:30PM for Leadership Staff) on Sundays and ends at Midnight on Fridays.  I also realize the hours in between provide opportunity to invest in campers, plan for the next day, spend time in devotion and daily prayer, do work projects, build relationships, and take care of personal needs.

If you have any questions or concerns about these commmitments, please contact Andy Rosenhauch, Program Director at 425-746-9110 x19.
